No, competitors must be enrolled in another competition in addition to a sports competition.

No, competitors should be aware that category limits still apply to these competitions. Each competitor may only choose ONE competition within any given competition category. For example, if you’re registering to compete in Basketball, you cannot compete in any other Sports competitions.

No, Volleyball is a MIST NY pilot competition. Competitors who register for this competition should be aware that it is NOT offered at the National level, and as such, winners do NOT advance to MIST Nationals.

No, competitors are advised to bring their own food and snacks as MIST NY will not be providing meals during Sports Weekend. However, there will be a Bake Sale from which you can purchase treats and drinks.

Each team MUST have players match in some way through what they wear. Some options include:
Jersey with numbers expanded to include 0-99.
The same colored shirts.
The colors of other teams in your league will be listed to prevent confusion.
There will be no "Shirts" vs "Skins" or taped-on numbers.

Yes, your team must be accompanied by a registered Coach.

Only one (1) Brothers' Basketball, one (1) Brothers' Volleyball team, one (1) Sisters' Basketball team, and one (1) Sisters' Volleyball team is allowed for each school.

Your school may collaborate with another school and compete together to form a coalition.
All points and awards for this competition would be shared equally between collaborating schools (termed "coalitions")

Since registration for the Main Tournament isn't open yet, students who wish to compete in Sports Weekend must pay the full registration fee to secure their spot for both Sports Weekend and the Main Tournament. Competing during the Main Tournament is mandatory for all Sports competitors. After registering for Sports Weekend, competitors are also required to register for the Main Tournament and will receive a coupon for their Main Tournament registration later.

Spirit points are opportunities to collaborate or compete with other teams throughout the tournament and outside of your competitions! Spirit points are up for grabs throughout the entire MIST season, and some actions you can do to earn spirit points are being on time, being a team player/being supportive of other teams, being respectful of the venue, and more!

MIST NY Houses are teams of multiple schools working together to embody the Islamic traits of wisdom, clarity, peace, and patience! The goal is to build community through collaborating with other schools (while engaging in some friendly competition in earning spirit points). Whoever shines through and receives the most spirit points wins the coveted title of Most MISTified House!
